It is very gratifying to visit our customers and find dust collectors installed more than 20 years ago and in full operation. In this case, there are two process bag filters for fertilizer dryer’s aspiration installed in Spain.
The success of a dedusting facility is summarized in the design and the combination of several factors, among the most decisive:
- The Air to Cloth ratio (air volume / filtering surface): opting for conservative ratios (more filtering surface) makes the bags life longer. In this facility we get up to 6 years of bags life.
- Can Velocity (upward speed between bags): an optimal bag separation helps in a better bag cleaning efficiency and therefore reduces compressed air consumption.
- The filter fabric: it is essential to select the filter fabric that is valid according to the characteristics of the filter gases. A bad filter fabric selection could cause a total system failure.
- The filter construction materials: not always the most economical solution is the most profitable one; depending on the characteristics of the gases and the working temperatures, it is convenient to choose stainless steels instead of standard carbon steels.
